Best paint shades for work at home offices
Are you setting up a new home office? Or maybe you're just looking to improve your productivity while working at home. Paint colors can set the tone for whole room and have a big impact on your mood and productivity.
In this article, I'm going to share the best paint shades to improve your concentration and give you a more positive outlook…so you can get more done while you're at home.

20 Home office paint colors
Blues
When it comes to picking the best shades of paint for your home office, it's really ideal to pick a paint color that relaxes you so you are at peak performance. But, you also want one that is light and airy (if it's too dark, it can make you sleepy).
It is amazing what a difference the color can make on your emotional state and your productivity. My first choice recommendation would be blue as most people find this color relaxing (and it tends to work well with both light and dark hardwood floors.
Softer and lighter blues tend to work best.

Note: if you love a darker blue, or navy, my absolute favorite shade of navy is Sherwin Williams Commodore. Generally, it's too dark to put on all 4 walls of an office. But, it's awesome as an accent wall. I would then pair it up with SW Gray Screen. This is a cool gray so it complements the cool rich blue of Commodore.

Grays
My 2nd choice color for offices would be gray. Gray is currently the most popular paint color, and it also pairs well with both dark and light floors. But, importantly, I would go with a warm gray rather than a cool gray.
As the name implies, warm grays are warmer. Cool grays tend to make the room feel cooler and can depress your mood, and that's the last thing you need when trying to make your home office feel warm and inviting.

When it comes to home offices, I tend to gravitate towards lighter grays and warmer grays as shown here.
Cool grays can make an office feel cold – both emotionally and physically. Agreeable gray veers more towards beige, Silverpointe has some green undertones, Passive has a faint hint of blue (but not too cool) and Repose gray is another mix of gray/beige, but a bit more gray than Agreeable Gray.
Blue Grays/Dusty Blues
Of course for some, doing a combo of both blue and gray is ideal. Dusty blues are incredibly popular and are also a wonderful for choice for home offices.
Some prefer to go more blue with some gray mixed in; others are more gray with some blue mixed in.

Final thoughts on home office paint colors
The best advice I can give you for your home office is to pick a paint color that you love and relaxes you so that you can be super productive. Avoid colors that make you feel anxious or hungry as those may be rather distracting. Pick one that just puts you at ease.
