Best Seafood and Beef in Fells Point

Fells Point is one of Baltimore's most historic neighborhoods. Its cobblestone streets and artsy cultural attractions are known all over the city.

Spend time wandering the area, checking out the boutique shopping, sights, and sounds in store. Learn about the history of the area by visiting its historic buildings and attractions.

The Robert Long House is just one example. There are at least 300 Fells Points buildings that are included on the National Register.

For sure, you'll spend a lot of time exploring Fells Point and learning about its history. But don't forget to check out the culinary scene, too. I can attest that it's outstanding.

Ekiben

Ekiben has a casual atmosphere, and it's perfect for a quick bite to eat or a full meal. It specializes in Asian Fusion cuisine, and only fresh and tasty ingredients are used.

There are plenty of popular dishes here. Just ask the locals. They'll tell you about tempting creations like the Thai Chicken Meatballs, Broccoli Tempura, Chicken Sandwich, and Spicy Bird.

Other legendary dishes include The Neighborhood Bird and Tofu Nuggets. So, what did I order? I went with The Neighborhood Bird.

It features Taiwanese curry fried Chicken, spicy sambal mayo, fresh herbs, and pickles. I got the mild version, but choose the spicy if you're more on the daring side.

I highly recommend this dish! You'll find Ekiben on Eastern Avenue, just a minute away from The Baltimore Tattoo Museum.

There's a good reason Thames Street Oyster House was among the first restaurants I visited in Fells Point. It's an award-winning culinary establishment focusing on mid-Atlantic seafood.

Thames Street Oyster House is all about traditional New England and Maryland cuisine. Discover Thames Street Oyster House on the Thames Street waterfront, a historic Baltimore location.

This restaurant has a seasonal menu created by Chef Houseknecht. Check out the special dishes offered daily. Not sure what to order? Ask the attentive staff.

They know the perfect selection for you. When I had dinner at this legendary Baltimore restaurant, I started with the Crispy Point Judith Calamari and selected the specialty of the day, the Eastern Shore Oyster Stew.

I don't know about you, but I love a hearty breakfast. I asked locals for recommendations, and almost all of them mentioned Blue Moon Cafe.

I enjoyed breakfast there twice during my time in Fells Point, and I loved the traditional American flavors on offer. For my first visit to Blue Moon Cafe, I had the French Toast.

It was yummy and the perfect fit for my French Toast. For my second breakfast there, I went with the G&G's Country Scramble.

It features a homemade biscuit with bacon, eggs, and cheddar cheese. And don't forget the sausage gravy.

My mouth's watering now just remembering it! You'll discover Blue Moon Cafe just minutes away from Broadway Market.

Looking for an exciting gastropub in Fells Point? One-Eyed Mike's is calling your name. It's conveniently situated on South Bond Street, just minutes from Whole Foods Market.

One-Eyed Mike's has the perfect atmosphere. It's found in a former tavern with historic significance. I loved the hand-carved bar, so evocative of centuries past.

There are a plethora of tasty menu selections here. Just a few examples are the French Onion Soup, Crab Cake, and Duck Breast Sliders.

I visited One-Eyed Mike's for dinner one night, and I had the Bavette Steak, which includes 8-ounce USDA prime steak along with herbs, garlic, asparagus, and roasted fingerlings.


Duda's Tavern

Duda's Tavern is the perfect place for mingling with locals. If you enjoy traditional taverns with a laidback atmosphere, this establishment is a great choice for you.

As well as a tavern, Duda's Tavern is an excellent restaurant serving tasty culinary creations. Some famous dishes here are the Grilled Salmon Burger, Crabcake Sliders, and Crab Cakes.

I can personally attest to how beautifully the food is presented at Duda's Tavern. There's a surprisingly extensive menu, and there's truly something for everyone.

I'm a big fan of traditional Fish & Chips, so that's what I ordered. It was the best I've ever tried, with cod filet covered with crispy batter. It comes along with crinkle-cut fries.


Bertha's

Bertha's has been a local institution since 1972. This restaurant is situated on Broadway near Lancaster Street. As well as tasty culinary treats, Bertha's offers a great list of specialty cocktails.

It includes classics like the Mint Julep as well as creations like Coconut Strawberry Refresher. There are so many popular and delicious menu items here that I had trouble selecting my order.

I eventually decided on the Crab Cake Sandwich. If you love seafood, you've just got to try this. Other well-known Bertha's dishes include the Maryland Crab Soup, Stuffed Shrimp, Garlic Butter Mussels, Cream of Crab Soup, and Maryland Crab Soup.

Craving a meal in a casual waterfront setting? Make time for a meal at Riptide – Fells Point. This restaurant and tavern focuses on deliciously fresh seafood.

It's famous for its crab dishes. And this location offers live music every weekend. Go check it out! Riptide by the bay has an exciting variety of seafood and traditional American dishes.

Examples of well-known and well-loved menu options are Maryland Crab Cakes, Maryland Blue Crab, Oysters, Alaskan Snow Crab, and Fish and Chips.

I had the Maryland Crab Cakes. They were tasty! This restaurant is all about the tastes and flavors of Chesapeake seafood, all sourced locally.


Duck Duck Goose

I love the atmosphere of French brasseries, and Duck Duck Goose offers an innovative interpretation of this experience.

This restaurant's visionary chef is Ashish Alfred, and he is an expert on classic and modern Parisian cuisines. All dishes are expertly executed and beautifully prepared.

Don't be intimidated by Duck Duck Goose. This establishment eschews pretentiousness. It just focuses on splendid flavors to tempt your tastebuds. The atmosphere is elegant yet warmly welcoming.

If you love seasonal ingredients all sourced locally, Duck Duck Goose is for you. Duck Duck Goose is situated conveniently near Segamore Pendry Baltimore, a luxury boutique hotel.

Want brunch in Fells Point? Twist Fells Point is one of the best places for brunch in the area. In fact, you can eat brunch there until 3 pm every day.

Twist Fells Point is all about American food with a Mediterranean flourish. Twist Fells Point has a bistro atmosphere. The restaurant is easy to find on Broadway in Fells Point.

If you're a vegetarian or a vegan, you can find options here. There are also gluten-free menu options here. I'd never tried Chicken and Waffle before, so that's what I ordered at Twist Fells Point.

It was delicious and you should try it too. Other well-loved Twist Fells Point dishes are Braised Lamb Shank, Eggs Benedict, and Moroccan Spiced Lamb Sausage.


Kooper's Tavern

Conveniently located on Thames Street in Fells Point, Kooper's Tavern has a classic American atmosphere with traditional American cuisine.

This restaurant is best known for its burgers, so head over and give them a try. You feel like family at Kooper's Tavern. I was immediately impressed by the warmly welcoming and attentive staff.

This restaurant serves brunch, lunch, and dinner. There are many delicious and popular menu options here, such as the Farmstead Lamb Burger, Old Bay Wings, Bison Burger, and Fish and Chips.

I ordered the MacGuinness Burger. I highly recommend this creation with 100% Black Angus beef, cheddar, and applewood smoked bacon.

If modern Mexican food is what you're craving, make plans for a meal at Barcocina. This restaurant offers a unique industrial-style atmosphere setting right by the water.

In fact, you can sit outside and enjoy a view of the harbor. Barcocina specializes in modern Mexican cuisine.

There are lots of tapas and small plate options in-store. There are so many popular dishes here, it's hard to know where to start.

How about Korean Beef Tacos, Fish Tacos, Cheeseburger Tacos, and Mahi Mahi Tacos? Getting hungry yet? You'll discover Barcocina just minutes from the National Aquarium.

Final Thoughts

Remember to visit the Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park Museum while you're in Fells Point. It focuses on the African American experience in American nautical history, and it's a fascinating educational spot.

No doubt about it, there's a lot to do in Fells Point. But don't forget to try out the outstanding culinary scene in this legendary neighborhood.

Visit at least a few of the excellent restaurants I talked about above. If you're going to be closer to the Ellicott City area, though, you should definitely check these places out.
